Here's a story...about the team

As we sit at the airport waiting for our flight, we figured now would be a good time to introduce the Brady Bunch.

   Meet Shruthi
A proud Tarheel, Shruthi finished her undergrad in applied sciences and biomedical engineering at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Originally from India, Shruthi grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina. As an undergrad, she has had research experiences in optical coherence tomography and ultrasound imaging. After interning with Siemens Healthcare, Shruthi has had a passion for medical imaging and electrical engineering projects with a biomedical focus. Shruthi's social interests are in women empowerment, especially in India, and healthcare accessibility for rural populations. Some of her personal interests are tennis, basketball, running, and singing(badly). Shruthi is excited to be part of the CBID program at Johns Hopkins and to be one step closer to achieving her goals.

Meet Erin

Erin is originally from Baltimore, Maryland and is happy to be going to be back in her hometown. A proud member of the Wolfpack, Erin received her bachelors degree in biomedical engineering from North Carolina State University. Throughout her undergraduate career she worked on projects related to her interests of medical device deveopment and rehabilitative engineering which included a wrist-hand orthosis and a motion tracking sleeve for the knee. Her past work experiences include work as a quality engineering consultant for a life science compliance consulting firm and work as a technical writer for a hospital software development team at McKesson. In her free time, she likes to swim, do art/craft projects, write raps, and travel.

 Meet Maddie

Maddie is from Sydney, Australia where she completed her Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical (Biomedical) Engineering. Her Honors Thesis involved optimising experiments in clinical neurology to better predict treatment outcomes for patients with idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus. Other projects during her undergraduate studies involved designing a new stent for wide-necked aneurysms and detecting long bone fracture healing. Before moving to Johns Hopkins, Maddie worked as a Clinical Project Coordinator in Medtronic's Neuromodulation Team on weekdays, and was a Respite and Recreation worker for young people with disabilities on weekends. In her spare time, Maddie loves to  dance, play the piano, spend time with friends, and run down to the beach for a swim!

Meet Jay

Dhananjay (Jay) is from Indore (a city in Central India). He studied Mechanical Engineering with a minor in management sciences from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay. He has some design experience as part of his senior project on adapting suture anchors for the Indian, osteoporotic bone for arthroscopic rotator cuff repair surgery. He is interested in global health and  enjoys traveling and reading.
